CHARLOTTE STERN
Charlotte Stern, one of Ismar’s oldest friends in Jerusalem and an earlier arrival from Germany than he was. She opened Charlotte’s Gifts on Storrs Street in 1938. According to Frommer’s it is the oldest gift shop in West Jerusalem and it is still there. Photo of a photo, taken by Jeff Finger.

Book and box for Lore Lilien. Goldsmith Lore Lilien was the wife of printer and printing historian Otto Lilien. The pair were close friends of Ismar, who designed this book with a case with metal clasp for her. Unfortunately this a poor photocopy of a photograph.
