An undated photograph of Ismar in Jerusalem.
Thanks to Jeff Finger we have some historical background and a photo of the spot, as it looked this past Sunday morning.
Jeff identifies the location as “the main corner in town, the corner of King George and Yafo. Sometime in the early 1960’s, it got the first and only traffic light in town. I have friends who remember the days of, ‘Meet me at the traffic light.'” He adds, “The pharmacy bit the dust in the 1950s. It was called Yanpotzky’s, I believe.”
