ISMAR DAVID'S GRAPHIC CAREER spanned more than six decades and two or three continents (depending on your continental drift.) In other words, he trained in Berlin from the late '20s until 1932 when he emigrated to then Palestine, leaving Israel in 1952 for New York, his home until he died in 1996.
The aim of this blog is to create a searchable online archive of Ismar's work, beginning with his book jackets and covers. You, too, can help, with your comments and with information and anecdotes about the artist and his graphic times.
